The journey to sugaring began from a place of frustration and a desire for something gentler. After years of struggling with painful shaving, irritating creams and uncomfortable waxing sessions, I discovered a solution that finally respected sensitive skin. In 2007 I found my first sugaring practitioner, who happened to be a certified instructor, and I experienced hair removal without heat, harsh ingredients or even turning pink.
That moment set everything in motion and inspired me to help others who shared the same insecurities I once carried. As more clients opened up about their own discomfort with traditional hair removal, I knew this was the service they had been waiting for. Today Cactus Sugar exists because of that experience and because of the commitment to create a safe, natural and empowering environment for every person who walks through our doors.
Lauren’s approach to sugaring is rooted in patience, precision, and genuine connection. She believes that great results come from truly listening—understanding each client’s comfort level, skin challenges, and personal goals before ever beginning a service.
Over the years, she has developed a reputation for her gentle hands, calming energy, and the way she makes even first-time clients feel instantly at ease. For Lauren, the most rewarding part of her work is watching someone walk out feeling lighter, more confident, and proud of the skin they’re in. She’s grateful every day to continue this work in a community she loves and to help others experience the same freedom and confidence sugaring gave her.
Courtney began her journey with Cactus Sugar as a client, which gave her a firsthand understanding of the care, comfort, and results the studio is known for. After becoming certified in sugaring, she trained closely with Lauren for several months to ensure every service met the high standards and thoughtful approach Cactus Sugar has always provided.
With 16 years in cosmetology and over three years specializing in sugaring, Courtney brings skill, ease, and confidence to every appointment. She has a natural ability to make clients feel relaxed, heard, and completely at ease from start to finish. Courtney values authentic relationships and loves helping women feel effortlessly confident in their own skin. Outside the studio, she enjoys books, movies, music, family time, and anything girly and sparkly.
